Alex at the 8th Grade Dance

Alex had a really good time at her 8th Grade dance. It just seems like yesterday that I was going to dances.

Summer Break has begun

Hayley is a graduate to Pre-K - rising Kindergartener, and Alex is a rising 9th grade highschooler. Where does the time go. My babies aren't babies anymore. BooHooHoo!

Not doing good at this blogging...

I am not doing so well at blogging. I really want to though. I am determined to get Christmas pictures and a recap of Christmas out here soon. Just writing a short note for now. We did have a REALLY good Christmas, but as always I am glad it is over. I love it but I get so stressed out about it. Jason is really the one that stresses me out over the whole thing because I am so last minute and he always nags me about it all. However, I guess I do need him to keep me in line. I inherite a lot of my Dad's ways in temperment/patience. For those of you reading just wanted to let you know I haven't dropped off the face of the earth. Just busy with all different parts of life....Teenager, Preschooler, and hell-bound toddler (who I thought was going to be my easy-going mild tempered child, but instead has turned into the toughest).

When will it fly away?

All of us Barkers in Buford EXCEPT Addison got a nasty stomach bug one after the other the other week. It started out with Hayley. Poor thing didn't know what was wrong with her. It was coming out both ends and I was with her in the bathroom holding a trash can in front of her while she was sitting on the toilet. She said "Mom, what is wrong with me?" I told her that it would be okay and that it was just a stomach bug. She then said pitifully "Ohhhhh, when will this bug fly away!" It was quite funny. I wanted to make a note of this so I wouldn't forget.

Hayley's Birthday Party

Hayley had a great birthday party on Sunday, Novemeber 2nd. We missed the grandparents being there but we survived! She had her party at the INK museum in Gainesville, GA. This is a really cool play place for children. It is like a big warehouse with different rooms in it that have occupations the kids can pretend to be. There is a Doctor's office, VET office, Dentist office, Grocery store, Library, a real police car and firetruck, a real airplane etc. The kids had a great time. It was also a costume party so Hayley was Tinkerbell. It was Tinkerbell themed. Her birthday being on Halloween and me since she was born saying everyone dresses up for her birthday...I am sure she will always have a costume pary. Oh and when you look at the pictures from her birthday...check out her NEW haircut. When I was in Athens for Alex's chorus concert Satruday, Jason was watching Hayley and Addison. Well, the GA vs. FL game was on and while Hayley and Addison were playing, Hayley decided to open a beauty salon and cut not only her hair but Addison's as well. I get a call from Jason right as I was getting back home to pick up Hayley's birthday cake. He said I need you home right away, Hayley has cut her hair and Addison's and it is bad. So, once I got home a little after 5 I had to find a place to try to do something with there hair because her party was the next day. VERY EVENTFUL! They did what they could with their hair but there were so many different lengths it was hard. I have to tell you I was just a LITTLE upset about the whole thing.

Hayley's 5th Birthday - Oct 31

Hayley's BIG day finally arrived! She has been counting down the days for I don't know how long. Hayley started off her day as Tinkerbell. Her pre-k had a big Halloween party at school and they all dressed up. She was welcomed with a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAYLEY when she entered the classroom. She wore her "Authentic" Tinkerbell costume we bought from Disney World. She was such a princess. We didn't buy the shoes there so I created some myself. That night we celebrated her birthday with cookie cake and presents from grandparents and us. Honeymum and Grandaddy got her a beautiful ballerina jewelry stand, Emme and Papa gave her money to go shopping which she bought a cool babydoll with, and we gave her the Tinkerbell movie, which is really good by the way! We then ended the evening trick-or-treating and then her friend from across the street, Lauren, spent the night and Lauren's parents came over and we watched the Halloween movie remake. Alex left that morning for a District Honors chorus event in Athens, Ga. They rehearsed all day Friday and the concert was Saturday that I went to. It was really good.
